WRINKLE TREATMENT

Wrinkles are traces that appear with the effect of aging and sun and indicate that our age is progressing on our face. The damage that environmental effects cause to our skin, especially in the upper layers, manifests itself as blemishes, discoloration, fine wrinkles, loss of softness and moisture, and dulling of the skin. Laser wrinkle treatment is one of our technological aesthetic applications that we offer to our patients for the solution of such problems.
These traces, which can be removed with laser wrinkle treatment, begin to form in the 28-30s and progress and deepen as age progresses.
Wrinkles initially start with the aging and wrinkling of the skin, and increase with the sagging and emptying of the subcutaneous fat and muscle tissues with aging, that is, the formation of age-related tissue atrophy.
Although superficial skin rejuvenation applications to be made at the beginning are effective, in advanced ages, it is necessary to use lasers that tighten the skin, which are aimed at deeper tissues, and even add facial rejuvenation surgeries to this.
Start of Laser Wrinkle Treatment
Applications for the treatment of wrinkles with laser started about 10 years ago with carbon dioxide (CO2) lasers. CO2 laser applications were widely used. Their effects were quite good, but the recovery period was quite long and laborious, which made it very difficult for patients. The resulting redness and edema could last for 6-8 months.
Treatment of Wrinkles with ERBIUM Lasers
With the ERBIUM lasers, which have started to be used today and are more powerful technologies than CO2 lasers, very effective results are obtained.
Both the short recovery period, the very little pain, and the very superior results increase the use of Erbium lasers within the scope of technological aesthetic applications.
Our skin basically consists of two layers. The epidermis is the most superficial part, which is quite thin and covers the lower layers. Fine wrinkles and sun damage first form here. Superficial skin blemishes, superficial scars and some moles form here.
There are many formations in this layer called the dermis. Some of the most important elements are found here. Sweat glands, sebaceous glands, collagen fibers, pigment cells that give color to the skin are found in this layer. Mild and deep acne scars can reach here, and some moles and birthmarks formed after birth are found in this layer.
Erbium lasers are a laser that is effective on all layers of the skin. In other words, the functions we choose are safely used in the treatment of facial wrinkles, acne scars, skin scars raised from the skin due to surgery or trauma, and skin blemishes.
What is Treated with Erbium Laser Treatment?
- Fine wrinkles
- Color irregularities
- Spots due to sun damage
- Acne scars (Scars)
- Age spots can be easily treated.
Effect on the upper layer of the skin
With the controlled peeling of the upper layer of the skin (Epidermis), the aged, wrinkled skin surface is replaced by a new and smooth skin.
Although all facial wrinkles can be treated with skin resurfacing, it is known as one of the best treatment methods, especially in wrinkles caused by sun damage around the lips and eyes.
Acne scars or scars formed after surgery and trauma can be treated, but although not all of the deep (sunken) scars are completely corrected, a great improvement is achieved.
Many benign signs of aging on the face can be easily treated.
Thanks to this procedure, a tension does not occur on the face, as obtained as a result of a facelift surgery. But since the skin is renewed and rejuvenated, a very young, dynamic and lively appearance emerges.
Fine lines around the mouth and eyes do not provide complete improvement with facelifting, but very good results can be obtained in these areas with laser skin resurfacing. For this reason, it is frequently used together with facelift surgeries.
Within the scope of technological aesthetic applications, sedation, local or general anesthesia is performed to make the patient comfortable during laser wrinkle treatment with laser skin resurfacing. Since the application can be done with a simple cooling method, it does not require serious anesthesia.
The recovery period after the treatment of wrinkles with laser, which is a technological aesthetic application, is painless. After the application, the application area is covered with a dressing. The recovery period lasts around 7-10 days and it is observed that the application areas are in a pink color. This period is the period when the skin is most sensitive to the sun and the patient is provided to use the recommended sunscreens. It is also possible to cover this color change with concealer make-up. The pink appearance usually disappears in about 1 month. In patients who have undergone the procedure, there is a moderate or significant reduction in skin lines, and even an improvement in skin color and texture and a healthy skin appearance are formed. The result to be obtained with this procedure is much better.
Effect of Er-YAG Laser on Both the Upper and Lower Layers of the Skin
In cases where it is not enough to renew only the upper layer of the skin, it is necessary to tighten and rejuvenate the lower layers of the skin. Again, erbium yag lasers are used here, but with a difference, the laser beams are fractionated, that is, they are divided into small pieces and made to affect the depths of the skin in the form of dots. Fractional laser is also an Er-YAG laser.
The Er-YAG laser is absorbed by the top layer of the skin and is a very gentle light used for peeling the skin. Fractional lasers, on the other hand, are devices that can send many laser beams with micron diameters to the skin simultaneously in an area of 1.3 cm2. The emitted Er-YAG beam opens a hole in both the upper and lower layers of the skin thanks to the power given. These very small wounds heal by contracting like wounds formed in other parts of the body, and without the need for any dressing on the top layer of the skin, it allows the application area to recover, tighten, reduce cracks, reduce wrinkles, reduce acne pits, and reduce surgical or non-surgical scars.
It gives a slight burning sensation during the procedure, followed by redness and sensitivity in the applied area. The sensitivity is relieved with numbing creams and completely disappears within 7-10 hours. Redness starts after the application and disappears within 24-48 hours. A very slight crusting occurs at the end of 48 hours. The crusting will also disappear within 24-36 hours. Redness is seen on the day of the procedure and the next day, and a slight crusting is seen on the 3rd and 4th days. You can return to your normal life on the 4th day. In this four-day period, it is recommended that our patients use creams that accelerate wound healing. Depending on the problem, the treatment can be repeated 3 or 6 times at three-week intervals.
